Scrubs, Lotions, and Traditional Thai Soaps: What's the Difference?
Explore our range of 36 Thai body care products: cream scrubs with mango, pineapple, noni, and coconut; a 'Mango' salt scrub; 250g creams; and massage and bath oils.
Cream scrubs feature abrasives in a creamy base, often making a separate lotion unnecessary afterward. The 'Mango' salt scrub is more intensive, ideal for rough areas like elbows, knees, and feet. Our 250g creams with mango, pineapple, noni, and coconut oil work effectively as a lotion on damp skin after showering. Massage oils in jasmine, lemongrass, lotus, frangipani (lilawadee), and pineapple (100ml) can replace cream: just a spoonful on damp skin.
Traditional Thai soaps are made using a cold process, retaining glycerin in the bar, which makes them gentler than industrially produced soaps. 'Pineapple' soap contains Ananas comosus acids, while 'Bamboo Charcoal' acts as an absorbent for oily back skin. While cosmetics cannot eliminate stretch marks or cellulite, scrubs and creams can help maintain skin elasticity during changes in body volume. Established white stretch marks are not typically addressed by topical products.
How to Choose Your Body Care Routine
- Daily Shower — 'Pineapple' or charcoal soap; follow with cream for dry skin.
- Exfoliation — Cream scrub once or twice a week; use salt scrub selectively on rough areas.
- Post-Shower Lotion — 250g cream or massage oil applied to damp skin.
- During Body Volume Changes — Use scrub plus oil daily, without expecting marks to disappear.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes traditional Thai soap different?
It's made using a cold process, which keeps glycerin in the bar, resulting in less skin tightness. Additives include pineapple acids or bamboo charcoal. Store on a dry soap dish to prevent the bar from softening.
How do I use the mango body scrub?
Apply to damp skin in the shower, using circular motions from bottom to top, then rinse. Cream scrubs are gentler, while salt scrubs are more intensive. Using a scrub more than twice a week may lead to skin dryness. Follow with a cream or oil.
What can I expect from a stretch mark lotion?
Creams do not repair dermal tears. They can help moisturize fresh, reddish marks. A recommended routine: cream scrub twice a week, plus cream or oil daily. For established white stretch marks, consult a healthcare professional.
